Topic: From match analysis to the training pitch – a coach workshop on recognising, understanding and training game principles
On 26 January 2020, the Institut für Jugendfußball, together with the club Amasyaspor Lohne, held a coach seminar with Steven Turek. The event, attended by 45 participants, was perfectly prepared by Dirk Feldkötter, Ali Boydak (Chairman) and Norbert Vornhagen (head of football).
In his theory and practical sessions on "strategic defending", Steven Turek presented principles of playing against the ball and, using video clips from top-level football, explained the tactical elements needed either to win the ball back as often as possible or to defend the goal consistently.
In the practical session, Steven showed interesting game formats for strategic defending that can be implemented with just a few players and in tighter spaces, as well as fundamental principles of transitioning and counter-attacking play.
Helmut Pöhlking (Chairman of the Kreis Vechta coaching committee) attended the seminar and brought the points for C-licence holders to renew their licences.

At the end of the seminar in Lohne, as elsewhere, every participant received a certificate as a memento, a Taktifol starter set and a mini ball from Derbystar.
