Main theory topic: Finishing training – The 8 stages from beginner to goalscorer

In the theory session, Peter Schreiner presented his development concept for finishing training, which starts with effective basic training for beginners (aged 8 and over) and progresses systematically up to special training for strikers who want to improve their goalscoring qualities or are going through a goal drought.

  • Learning stage 1: Basic drills for beginners
  • Learning stage 2: Basic drills for advanced players
  • Learning stage 3: Multiple actions (shots on goal)
  • Learning stage 4: Complex training formats with finishing
  • Learning stage 5: More difficult conditions
Shooting after a lofted ball, sprint, turn, jump
  • Learning stage 6: Shooting under time pressure
  • Learning stage 7: Shooting under opponent pres**sure**
  • Learning stage 8: Game formats/competitions

The practical sessions featured training formats from stages 4, 7 and 8.

In the introductory talk, Peter Schreiner presented the principles of a child-appropriate warm-up programme and introduced warm-up games and warm-up exercises, which he then demonstrated with Lohne's U15 team in the first practical session.
