On 8 March 2026 (9.30 am – 1.00 pm), an intensive coach seminar led by Thomas Ankermann took place at TSV Solingen.
Speaker Peter Schreiner presented his new training concept on the topic “Quick, correct decisions – the art of proper scanning”.

At the heart of the seminar was the question of how coaches can specifically improve their players’ perception, orientation and speed of action. Using numerous practical exercises, Schreiner showed how decision-making processes in the game can be accelerated.
The participants were able to take away a great many ideas for their own training. The feedback from the coaches was extremely positive across the board.

The demonstration groups were highly motivated U11 and U13 girls from the Solingen/Remscheid district. With commitment and great concentration, they presented the various training forms of the seminar, making it possible to convey the content in a particularly vivid way.
The main focuses of the seminar were:
- Small games and competitions with a focus on perception and orientation
- Passing exercises with additional perception tasks
- Game forms with deliberate scanning before the action on the ball
- Team games with changing teams and demands for quick decisions
The coach seminar was supported by the company TEAMSPORTBEDARF, which provided, among other things, a “T-Pro Connect” set and other training equipment.
After the event, Peter Schreiner was particularly impressed by the commitment of the participating coaches:
“What impressed me most was the great commitment of the participants. Many of them actively helped me coach the passing exercises in groups of three and run the game forms. This meant several groups could be supervised individually at the same time – and the coaches also gained their first practical experience with the fascinating topic of perception.”
The seminar gave participants numerous concrete training ideas and valuable input for specifically developing perception and speed of action in modern football training.
